VEHICLE COLLISION: Authorities Unable to Identify Fatalities in Highway 58 Collision

April 26, 2011

Bakersfield- Authorities have failed to identify all three people who died after being involved in a fiery crash along Highway 58, said reports.

According to California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers, a 2002 Ford was moving west near General Beale Road when it suddenly went over the dirt center divided and headed towards the eastbound lanes, where it collided with a Kenworth big rig.

The impact caused both vehicles to move off road and crash into trees before bursting into flames, said reports.

Authorities also failed to identify the gender of the two victims due to the damage sustained by their bodies.
