CPSC Warns Consumers on Dangerous Infant Hammocks
December 8, 2009
Washington - The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has warned consumers against using Amby Baby Motion Beds which can cause babies to suffocate from the fabric or the mattress pad.
Nearly 24,000 units were recalled after two babies died from being suffocated when they rolled because of the shifting of the hammock. The victims were mostly four months old and five months old.
The company designed the product to imitate the baby’s movement inside the mother’s womb. The products sold online and other web sites since 2003 were recalled. A repair kit will soon be available for consumers.
