Concrete Porch Collapses, Kills Pest Control Worker

Sacramento, CA – A pest control worker was killed after a concrete porch collapsed and crushed him in the Curtis Park neighborhood Monday.
According to Fire Department Capt. Jim Doucette, the worker was under a house when a 6-foot by 6-foot concrete slab crushed him.
Firefighters arrived within one minute after receiving the report but could not take out the victim from under the 1,000-pound slab until almost 30 minutes later, Doucette said.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
