BICYCLE ACCIDENT: Cyclist Hospitalized when Hit by Truck in Carlsbad

Carlsbad - A 22-year-old male bicyclist has been hospitalized after he was struck and injured by a truck.

According to reports, the bicyclist was moving east in the bike lane along Cannon Road near Hemingway Drive when the accident occurred.

The man sustained a head wound and possibly, a broken head. He was rushed to the hospital to receive immediate treatment.

Reports said the truck driver stopped his vehicle after the incident. The driver was not cited, but charges may still be filed later on.

It appeared that alcohol and drugs were not involved in the accident, said authorities.
