VEHICLE COLLISION: Elderly Driver Dies in Buena Park Collision

Buena Park – An 81-year-old Bellflower man died in a collision along La Palma Avenue Monday night, authorities said.
According to reports, Wilbur Fagan was driving a westbound Chevy Blazer near Dale Avenue and Tamarack Way when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle veered across the median and collided with an approaching vehicle from the opposite direction shortly before 9pm.
Fagan’s vehicle collided with a Suburban causing the Blazer to land on its roof on the sidewalk.
Firefighters extricated Fagan from the Blazer and took him to a hospital where he later died.
The unidentified male driver of the Suburban, who was said to have consumed alcohol before the accident, along with his female passenger, was treated for injuries sustained from the accident.
Authorities are still investigating the accident.
