Mountain Man to Replace Recalled Hazelnuts

January 04, 2010

Castle Rock, Colorado - The Mountain Man Nut & Fruit Co. has announced that it will replace or refund money to clients following the pullout of hazelnuts from the stores recently.

The recall was made after the company found out that raw hazelnuts could be contaminated by salmonella. The products affected were those manufactured from November 1 to December 17 of 2009 such as those included in the 12 Tastes Basket, Bounty Basket and Half-Pound Sampler Basket.

Although the results of the products that were tested by Kunze Farms were clean, the company felt that they will not risk the health of their customers. There were no reports of consumers who got sick because of the hazelnuts.

If the baskets were bought on the web site or were shipped as gifts, the consumers can contact Mountain Man and they would be given different options on how the product replacement would be sent to them. The products sold in Oregon were not affected by the recall.
