VEHICLE CHAIN COLLISION: Multi-Vehicle Crash on 10 Freeway Kills Woman, Injures 3 Other People

Jefferson Park – A multi-vehicle accident along the Santa Monica (10) freeway has killed a woman and injured three other people early this morning.
The collision happened along the westbound lanes of the freeway by Crenshaw Boulevard at about 4:46 am.
The crash caused one of the cars to catch fire.
According to the CHP, a woman believed to be in her 50s, died at the scene while the two other victims are still in serious condition.
Los Angeles Fire Department officials brought the two seriously injured victims, together with another who only sustained minor injuries, to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The crash closed down all westbound lanes causing heavy traffic.
Two lanes were reopened to motorists at about 8:40 am, while the rest of the lanes were reopened at about 9:30 am.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are still being investigated by the CHP.
