Plane Accident: Plane crash in Agua Dulce kills people, horses
October 21, 2010
Agua Dulce – At least two people and three horses were killed in a small plane crash in northern Los Angeles County Thursday afternoon, county fire officials said.
The accident occurred on the 33200 block of Canyon Quail Trail at about 12:19 pm. The aircraft crashed behind a barn and burst into flames, according to County fire Inspector Matt Levesque. It then sparked a fire on a private ranch. However, all flames were quickly put out.
Officials believed that the plane went down a steep decline because its engine was found buried in mud. It is also unclear whether the two people who died were on the plane or on the ground, Inspector Don Kunitomi said.
LA County sheriff deputies have no information yet on the owner of the plane, where it took off, and where it was heading.
The Federal Aviation Administration is determining the cause of the crash, which happened under unpleasant weather conditions.
