PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT: Toddler Dies when Hit by Pickup Truck in Madera County

Madera County - A one-year-old girl died after being hit by a pickup truck along Road 21, north of Avenue 7, said California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers.
According to reports, the fatal accident occurred when the toddler ran towards the path of a southbound pickup truck being driven by Jose Gallegos, 63, from Fresno.
The driver stepped on his brakes upon seeing the girl, but failed to avoid hitting her.
Authorities have not yet released the child’s identity.
