Victim in Caruthers Fatal Accident Identified

Fresno, CA - The Fresno County Coroner’s Office has identified the woman who died in an accident that transpired near Caruthers as Christina Meza, 35.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the woman was in a Ford Explorer that was hit by a big-rig, whose driver was not able to see stopped traffic in the fog at Elkhorn Avenue and southbound Highway 41.
The victim was identified earlier as a resident of Lemoore.
CHP said that the big-rig driver was identified as Martin Nelson, 22, a resident of Fresno.
In addition, CHP also reported that the visibility when the incident happened was 300 to 500 feet.
