VEHICLE CRASH: Woman Crawls Away From Crash with Open Fracture

July 1, 2010

Napa – A 67-year-old woman has crawled away from her disabled vehicle to safety after suffering serious injuries on an early Wednesday crash near Highway 121, the California Highway Patrol said.

Reports indicate that Kathy Solotky of Napa was driving her northbound 2004 Volvo S80 along Highway 29 at about 3:45 am when she may have fallen asleep causing her to hit a reflector and a tree.

Solotsky reportedly crawled some 60 feet from her vehicle back to the road with a possibly broken wrist and an open fracture to her leg. She was able to summon a passing motorist who called for rescuers. She was brought to Queen of the Valley Medical Center to be treated for her injuries.
