Driver Arrested for Four People's Death in Vehicle Accident

Fresno, C.A. - Aurelio Vazquez, 25, resident of McFarland, was booked into Kern County jail on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter and felony drunk driving after four people were killed in an accident involving the vehicle he was driving.

According to California Highway Patrol (CHP), four men, all residents of McFarland, died when the vehicle they were riding in flipped numerous times after running off Garzoli Avenue north of Elmo Highway in Kern County and hitting a concrete irrigation pipe.

One man was pinned in the rubble while the other three were thrown off from the vehicle because they were not wearing their seatbelts. The names of the fatalities were not released until proper family notification.

Injured passengers who were identified as Jesse Candejas, 15, resident of McFarland and Horacio Garza, 27, resident of Richgrove were brought to area hospitals.

Vazquez received medical help for his moderate injuries.
