SUV driver dies in crash

Los Angeles, CA - A driver of an SUV was killed after his vehicle turned off a freeway ramp, landing in a backyard in Hawthorne Friday.
The accident occurred at around 8:50 p.m. when the victim, Armando Jose Huante, 20, was moving to the eastbound 105 Freeway from the southbound 405 Freeway when his SUV crashed through a guardrail, clipped a house, and stopped in a backyard at 115th Street and Sundale Avenue, according to Hawthorne police.
Huante was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
California Highway Patrol Officer Alex Gonzales refused to contemplate whether rain is a contributory factor in the accident, even though it was raining heavily in the area.
